Introducing Rae Shagalov

Turning Kabbalah Wisdom

Rae (Ekman) Shagalov is a Jewish artist, writer and master calligrapher, currently living in Los Angeles, who has been developing and refining her craft for over 20 years. She has attended hundreds of classes on Jewish wisdom, taught by many of the leading teachers of our time in the United States and Israel.

She has, thank G-d, a unique talent of creating, on the spot, an artwork in calligraphy that gives over the essence of the deep wisdom that was taught in each class, in a beautifully distinctive and intriguing way. In her sketchbooks, there is a rare and extraordinary record of a Jewish artist's spiritual journey through time. Most of the pages are illustrated with a unique style of Jewish graphics, an interpretation of Jewish mysticism that Rae calls, "the spiritual architecture of Kabbalah wisdom."

Rae is also the Director of the Library Talent Center at Emek Hebrew Academy, Los Angeles, and specializes in developing talent in children and and as a motivation coach, helps Jewish women discover and fulfill their potential.

Rae has combined her experience as a motivation coach, her talent as a Jewish artist, and her fascinating spiritual search for the true meaning of life to produce the beautiful Jewish art displayed throughout the Holy Sparks Wisdom School.

in her own words:

By the grace of G-d, I have been blessed with a unique opportunity and talent for learning and taking notes from the most gifted, loving and extraordinary teachers of Torah and Jewish spirituality. My goal has always been to share these amazing words of wisdom and inspirational notes with you, my dear friends.

How I Began to Learn the Secrets of Life

About 15 years ago I made the best decision I ever made in my life when I began to explore my Jewish heritage from the inside. I have always been a seeker of truth and searched for spiritual truth. I always felt that there is a spiritual solution to every problem � if only I knew how to find it! As I was growing up, I didn�t know how to find spirituality. I never had access to the deeper, inner wisdom of Judaism, so as an adult, I never expected to find a meaningful experience in Jewish practice. It seemed so old-fashioned.
Was I ever wrong!

I began to explore all kinds of new age spiritual beliefs for personal spiritual growth. They were all very fun and heart centered, but they all seemed so limiting. They all focused on self fulfillment as if the self was the most important thing in the universe. Now, don�t get me wrong, self improvement is a very important process, but I knew there must be something more. Nothing seemed to really fit. My spiritual emergence was very slow.

Wisdom for Life - Tranquility, Refinement & Power

Then I discovered Jewish spirituality through a special form of Judaism - Kabbalah wisdom called Hasidism. I decided to try to live according to Jewish law and Torah wisdom. I started to keep the Jewish sabbath and to eat only kosher food. I found my first teacher of Jewish wisdom, Chabad Rebbetzin Hinda Langer, who lives in San Francisco 300 miles away from where I lived at the time in the redwood forests of Northern California.

The 4 Steps That Brought Miracles Into My Life

I began to find the most amazing spiritual treasures that were my own inheritance all along by taking these four steps:

--Learning how to deepen my faith and my relationship with
the Master of the Universe
--Experiencing the tranquility of keeping the Sabbath,
--Eating only kosher food to refine my physical body,
--Finding a Jewish spiritual mentor to teach me the laws of Torah, and Kabbalah wisdom, and the power of acts of lovingkindness,

As my dear friend and mentor, Rebbetzin Langer says, "I just think a Jew should be Jewish!" Almost 6,000 years of Torah wisdom, as well as my own experience, and that of thousands of other Jews who have returned to the Torah way have proved that if you are Jewish, your soul can only be truly fulfilled when you live according to the way of Torah. I should know! I tried so many other spiritual paths but nothing ever seemed to make me feel like a had a fully nurtured soul.

As I began to learn about Kabbalah wisdom and Hasidism, the amazing and profound inner wisdom of Torah Judaism, my life began to change in astounding ways. I was able to emerge from a deep depression and found a passion for life. My spiritual search led me to discover my unique purpose and talents.
