The Mitzvot:
613 Spiritual Pathways
for Personal Growth.

What is a Mitzvah?

The Hebrew word Mitzvah is related to the word tzavta which means, connection. The 613 mitzvot or mitzvahs are acts of connection linking us to our Jewish heritage, the spiritual core of our soul, and to God, Himself. Performing mitzvahs endows our lives, homes, and communities with increased warmth, sensitivity, depth and joy.

If you are not Jewish, there are seven special mitzvahs, seven pathways of spiritual connection to God that are especially for you.

Do an Act of Goodness
and Kindness Today!

Maimonides writes that a person should always see himself and the entire world as equally balanced between good and evil. With just one positive deed, one can tip the balance and bring salvation for the entire world.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson declared,"Moshiach is ready to come. All that we have to do, is to add in acts of Goodness and Kindness." Maybe the final act of goodness that tips the scale to Redemption will be yours!

Do an Inspiring Mitzvah
for Spiritual and Personal growth

How can the lowest of all worlds become the highest of all worlds? Through doing the mitzvahs, we use physical objects to perform G-d's will. By donating a dollar, shaking the lulav, eating matzah on Passover, lighting Shabbos candles, putting on Tefillin, eating Kosher food, we bring G-d's essence to the world. In this way we strengthen and elevate the physicalworld so that it can fully receive the infinite revelation of G-d.

There are 613 mitzvahs or mitzvot, 613 holy sparks or strands of divine light through which we can connect to G-d. To read a list of the 613 mitzvot, Click here.
