When is Hanukkah 2008? This year, Hanukkah starts the evening of Sunday, December 21 and ends the evening of Monday, December 29. Hannuka is a wonderful Jewish holiday for the whole family to enjoy.

Sunday, December 21, 2008 Kislev 24 First Night of Chanukah Recite blessings 1, 2 and 3 and kindle one light in the menorah.
Monday, December 22, 2008 Kislev 25 Second Night of Chanukah Recite blessings 1 and 2 and kindle two lights in the menorah. Tuesday, December 23, 2008 Kislev 26 Third Night of Chanukah Recite blessings 1 and 2 and kindle three lights in the menorah. Wednesday, December 24, 2008 Kislev 27 Fourth Night of Chanukah Recite blessings 1 and 2 and kindle four lights in the menorah. Thursday, December 25, 2008 Kislev 28 Fifth Night of Chanukah Recite blessings 1 and 2 and kindle five lights in the menorah. Friday, December 26, 2008 Kislev 29 Sixth Night of Chanukah Before sunset recite blessings 1 and 2 and kindle six lights in the menorah. The menorah must be lit BEFORE lighting the Shabbat Candles (18 minutes before sunset). Light Shabbat Candles Shabbat, December 27, 2008 Tevet 1 Seventh Night of Chanukah After nightfall recite blessings 1 and 2 and kindle seven lights in the menorah. The menorah must be lit AFTER Shabbat ends and the Havdalah is recited. Sunday, December 28, 2008 Tevet 2 Eighth Night of Chanukah Recite blessings 1 and 2 and kindle eight lights in the menorah.
